Instructions for Submitting Papers
General Instructions
• REM is printed in the format and dimensions of this publication.
• Papers should be typed with automatic spacing. The paper to be used is A4 and should have 2cm margins. The last page should contain the author’s address and e-mail. Article submission should contain the original paper, one copy, and a diskette with the text. The author should maintain an identical copy.
• Articles will be accepted in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
• The title (Portuguese, English) should express the general idea of the article in a clear and precise manner. Immediately following the title, list the complete name(s) of the author(s), title(s) and precedence.
• Articles should have an abstract (keyword and palavras chaves) in Portuguese/Spanish with a 180-word maximum, followed by an English version. This abstract is a concise summary of the facts contained in the article, illuminating important facts and conclusions.
• Articles should be precise, not longer than 08 pages in size 12 Times New Roman font, including abstracts, illustrations, tables, bibliographical references, etc. In very special cases, articles will be accepted with a superior number of pages if the data presented is extremely important to the understanding of the topic in discussion.
• Graphic designs should be used only to clarify texts.
• When illustrations have already been published at another source, furnish the source and reproduction permission.
• The article’s outline should maintain the following standard format for publication:
Title (Avoid long titles and unnecessary words: “Study about….”, “Contribution to …”)
Authors (organize by level of research participation)
Abstract
Summary
Introduction
Material e Methods
Results
Discussion
Conclusions
Acknowledgments
Bibliographic references
REM publishes up to six photographs in color. Beyond this number is at the author’s expense.

How to send a digitized article
The article should be digitized in Word with a “doc” or “rtf” extension. The illustrations (photos, maps, etc.) should not be inserted in the text. These should be sent with eps, tif, Corel, gif, or jpg, etc. extensions. Only CAD files are not accepted by the editor’s programs.

É obrigatório colocar o título em português e sua versão em inglês, ou vice-versa para artigos em outras línguas.
Bibliographic References
Bibliographic references should be listed at the end of the text, in alphabetical order by first author’s last name according to Documentation Regulation NBR-6023, examples of which are given below:

Page Charges
REM has a voluntary page charge of $50 per printed page. Many institutions, research groups, government agencies, and companies, and individuals include funds for publication costs in their scientific budgets. Authors are asked to seek these or other funds for page charges.
Ten copies of REM without covers will be furnished free to authors paying full voluntary page charges.
